Aietah Stephens

Aietah Stephens is the State Director for Sooner SUCCESS in the Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics located at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Aietah has worked at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Public Health for over 12 years prior to joining Sooner SUCCESS in November of 2012. She has experience in public health program coordination and community engagement. Specifically, a background in public health school-based programs, prevention program evaluation and community coalition experience to promote health and wellness initiatives on a community level.
She is currently serving on the Children’s Hospital Patient Experience Committee, the Staff Senate Shared Leave Policy Committee, the DHS Inclusive Child Care Committee, the Canadian Region Oklahoma Transition Team, and the Department of Development/Behavioral Pediatrics Administration Team. She helped plan and start the Mustang Sibshops which she continues to serve as an active member of the committee. She earned a Master of Science degree in Student Personnel Services from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, a Bachelor of Science degree, double major, in Communications and Indian Studies from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.
She is an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. She and her husband Lancer are blessed to have four children, and their oldest daughter has a rare chromosome anomaly. As a parent, Aietah is passionate and understands the important role and mission that Sooner SUCCESS and LeadLearnLive strives to fulfill.
